Learning a few Excel tricks can help make you more efficient, productive, predictive, and invaluable to your organization.  Join us for this five-part live webinar series where you will learn advanced skills in working with Excel tables to automate salary sheets, and budgets, manipulate text to create dynamic narratives, create interactive spreadsheets that talk to each other, learn advanced filtering, work with pivot tables, and more.

SESSION 1: Master Excel Tables

Monday, June 13, 2022 –2:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET

PRESENTERS:

Aziz Aghayev, MBA, CFO at Pioneer Charter School of Sciences, and CEO at Flowlyst

DESCRIPTION:

This one-hour session begins with the review of the employee workbook that will be provided to attendees and used throughout the five-day boot camp.  The presenter will then demonstrate how Excel tables can be used to automate several school business practices. Learning how to use Excel tables will allow you to sort, filter, organize and easily view your data.  You’ll also learn how to define named ranges to make your formulas easier to read and understand.  The presenter will also demonstrate how to create absolute and relative references and discuss when it’s appropriate to use them when developing spreadsheets.

OBJECTIVES:

Objective 1: Analyze Excel tables.

Objective 2: Define named ranges in Excel.

Objective 3: Construct absolute and relative references in Excel.

PRESENTER:

Aziz Aghayev, MBA, CFO at Pioneer Charter School of Sciences, and CEO at Flowlyst

DESCRIPTION:

This one-hour session reviews the process for using VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP in Excel – a function used to find data in a large spreadsheet or for locating information you frequently use.  You’ll also learn how to use the text concatenate function in Excel, how to create dynamic narratives, use the VLOOKUP to find text for narratives, and how to manipulate text using LEFT, RIGHT, MID, and FIND string formulas.

OBJECTIVES:

Objective 1: Explore the benefits of using the VLOOOKUP and HLOOKUP functions in Excel.

Objective 2: Manipulate spreadsheet data using LEFT, RIGHT, MID, and Find string functions in Excel.

Objective 3: Create and use dynamic narratives in Excel.

PRESENTER:

Aziz Aghayev, MBA, CFO at Pioneer Charter School of Sciences, and CEO at Flowlyst

DESCRIPTION:

This one-hour session examines some of the most powerful Excel features. Creating formulas to automate various data tables can save valuable time and energy and can also significantly reduce errors. It can take 2-3 weeks of manual work to create a district’s salary sheet. Join this webinar and learn how Excel can be used to automate these common business practices and turn 2-3 weeks of work to 2-3 hours.

OBJECTIVES:

Objective 1: Examine INDEX, MATCH, HLOOKUP, ISBLANK formulas and an INDIRECT formula in Excel and discuss how they can be used to automate workflow.

Objective 2: Construct formulas in Excel to maximize workflow efficiency.

Objective 3: Demonstrate increased ability in quickly analyzing common data fields in Excel spreadsheets.
