DESCRIPTION:

Examine the most scrutinized and utilized document in school district financial reporting – the annual budget and learn how to develop a budget document that meets today’s rigorous demands using step-by-step guidelines created specifically for school entities.  This micro course contains a collection of five individual nano learning courses, each worth 0.2 CPE credits. This collection of nano learning courses begins with an introduction of the Meritorious Budget award program and then breaks down the components of the budget including the Organizational Section, Financial Section, Informational Section and Executive Summary. Participants will be able to:

·       Identify the purpose and required components of an award-winning budget.

·       Identify the components of the Organizational Section of the budget plan.

·       Identify the components of the Financial Section of the budget plan.

·       Identify the components of the Informational Section of the budget plan.

·       Identify the components of the Executive Summary for a budget proposal.

CREDITS:

For each nano learning course completed, participants will earn 0.2 CPE credits and receive a certificate of completion. *Participants are not required to complete this micro course to earn CPE credits.  Upon successful completion of each nano learning course, learners will earn credits in the following Fields of Study: 

Nano Learning Course 1: 0.2 CPE credits in Business Management and Organization 

Nano Learning Course 2: 0.2 CPE credits in Business Management and Organization 

Nano Learning Course 3: 0.2 CPE credits in Finance

Participants earn one SFO credit upon successful completion of all five nano learning courses and the micro course evaluation.
